Fan Fiction: Crossovers
Can't Get You Outta My Head

Chapter 10 (pt 3)

The soldiers were on their feet, and joined their master in the combined attack. The Shadow was falling back, only blocking half the concentrated blows, being forced back against the wall.

Khan gave a victorious yell, when the window behind him exploded, and a blur of red and blue speared into the room, sending angry Mongols diving in every direction. Spiderman, knocking him into the distant wall, kicked Khan hard with both feet, still holding his web line tight. Brushing off glass shards, The Shadow stood, and charged Khan again, only to be intercepted by another Mongol warrior. The Shadow kicked the man hard on the shin, and followed with a hard right hook.

Spiderman made a leap at Khan as well, when a long sword came into view, spearing toward his face. Checking his leap with a hand on the floor, and a superhuman grip, Spiderman changed his direction, and actually did a handstand, kicking the blade aside with one leg, hammering the side of the Mongol's head with the other.

Khan overlooked the battle, grabbed one of the Mongols still standing, and dragged him out the door.

Forgotten on the other side of the room, Diane reached down to the floor, and picked up a solid, silver plated, pearl-handled .45 automatic. It was The Shadow's forgotten gun.

Diane gripped the gun in her hand, and tried to decide whose side she was on. Her head was spinning; the room went a bit fuzzy. She shook her head clear, then looked around again.

She looked at Khan. He's bailing out, she thought to herself. He's running. I probably would too, but he promised me power, and he's willing to show me how to use it.

She looked at The Shadow. He's winning, but that doesn't mean I want to be on his side. He's lied to me all this time, never told me about this, never told me about what I can do.

She looked back at Khan. He stalked and kidnapped me.

She looked back at The Shadow. He did come after me, even though I tried to betray him.

She watched as Spiderman gave one Mongol an uppercut that lifted him two feet off the floor. Khan was almost at the door, The Shadow had noticed, and was starting to follow, fighting the last two of the warriors still standing in the room. But she knew that he could disappear at any time. Khan was almost out of the room, his final soldier still by his side. If she was going to take a shot, it had to be now.

Choose girl! Choose! She ordered herself. A sudden spike of pain made her wince. What had Khan done to her?

She looked back and forth. Khan on her left and The Shadow on her right, neither was looking at her.

  And she made her choice.

She lifted the gun, aimed the gun.

  Pulled the trigger.
