Fan Fiction: Crossovers
Can't Get You Outta My Head

Chapter 10 (pt 2)

"I knew you'd rescue me Stephen." Diane kept going, not looking at Khan. "I always said you would."

The Shadow shoved her away, and held up a small tape player. He started the tape.

"Hello Kingpin." said the Diane's voice on the tape. "You may remember me, I used to work for you. Diane Burke."

"Ah yes, miss Burke, I remember."

"Well, Mr. Fisk. I want my job with you back."

"Oh? Why would I give you your job back?"

"Because I have information that you want to hear."
Diane said confidently. "I know who the Shadow is."

"Really? I would be VERY interested in this information. Who is he?"

"Now, I will tell you, if I have your word. I want my job back, and your guarantee that I will be safe."

  "Of course dear woman."
Answered the kingpin's voice.

  "The Shadow is Stephen Cranston."

"Of course! How else could he get all those scoops on The Shadow's activities? He does it himself, and then writes about it the next day. It makes so much sense."

  "We have a deal then?"
asked Diane.

"Indeed. Where are you? I will have to send a car for you."

"I am, in fact at Cranston manor."
Diane said.

"Okay then. It will be difficult to secure a discreet exit for you there. I will work on getting you here; you just act casual. Is he aware of your knowledge?"

"No. It's far too easy to fool him. I really can't believe he's- I have to go!"

Khan burst out laughing, and Diane practically fell over. She silently ran to the far side of the room and sank into a chair.

Khan gathered himself. "Oh, you're good Ying Ko."

"I'm the best. Which is why you are leaving the country on the next flight."

"I think not." Khan said, and he turned to his guards. "KILL HIM!"

All of Khan's men leaped forward with swords in hand, The Shadow drew his automatics, and used the barrels to block the first two blows, ducked under the third, and fired at the rest of the onrushing men.

Two Mongols were stopped in their tracks, bullets pounding into their armor. The rest of the men dove desperately to the floor, and began to belly crawl out of the line of fire.

But the Shadow was not interested in them any longer.

With a loud roar of anger, The Shadow leaped over two of the crawling soldiers, and smashed into Khan himself. Moving with The Shadow's leap, Khan used his momentum and threw him into the large window.

The Shadow pulled his gun around, and pointed it at Khan, only to have the Mongol warlord knock it away, and send it skittering across the room.
