Fan Fiction: Crossovers Can't Get You Outta My Head
Chapter 11
Both Spider-Man and Khan's soldier dove for their respective team members at the sound of the gunshot. Both Khan and The Shadow were knocked down, the single shot ricocheting uselessly off the wall.
Khan and The Shadow traded a confused look. Neither could tell whom she was aiming for.
Within an instant, Spider-Man had fired a web, snared the gun from her hand, and pulled it from her grip, and fired another web, netting her down tightly.
The Shadow let out a breath, and was about to ask Spiderman who she was aiming at, when he remembered his quarry.
Khan had vanished, and the door was still swinging shut.
"KHAN!" shouted the Shadow, leaping to his feet, practically flying for the door, and Spider-Man millimeters behind him.
"I'll just wait here." Called Diane from her net on the floor. Her head was pounding painfully. She considered trying to get up, but the cool floor made her headache easier, and Diane slipped into sleep quickly as the room spun faster.
The Shadow ran into the hallway, no sign of Khan, or his flunky. He saw movement. A stairwell door was swinging closed.
Laughing triumphantly, The Shadow ran for the door, storming into the stairwell, hearing Khan a few floors below him, and practically jumping down each flight of stairs.
"I'll go on the outside." Spider-Man shouted, and The Shadow nodded, still focused on his goal.
The Shadow burst into a parking garage, and saw Khan pulling out, his guard driving the jeep.
The Shadow ran for all he was worth, trying to catch up, when the roar of a motor behind him got his attention.
The Shadow spun, and three motorcycles roared up behind him, heading for flanking positions on the jeep.
The Shadow dodged as the bikes tried to run him down, then ran again to intercept the final bike, with a powerful leap, he brought the rider down with a heavy tackle.
The rider unconscious from the fall, The Shadow grabbed his bike, took a seat, started the engine and gunned the throttle, taking off after Khan and his final guard.
Khan looked in his rearview mirror, and gasped. The Shadow was still following. On a bike, his mocking laugh ringing out, and his cloak waving out behind him like the wings of a bird.
Khan screamed at his driver to hurry. This was not good.
