Shadow of the Warrior

Chapter 14

The truck squealed to a stop in the abandoned airstrip. Panting, Pruneface looked over his shoulder to see several cars following him, to his left he saw a plane idling, signifying that his superior had arrived. Pruneface ran into the hanger; all of the lights were off and it was pitch black save for the strip of moonlight that pierced into the hanger like a knife through the massive hanger doors. A haunting voice filled with hatred spoke to Pruneface from the darkness. "I see you have returned without the body and have failed, it is time to pay the price for failure!" Pruneface begged, "Please I have the hand of the corpse surely this is enough to spare my life! Please forgive me!" The voice replied with despise, "Your mission was for the body not the hand, Furthermore, those lights in the distance are US Federal agents. You have led them here, compromising this base! As for your life it was never meant to continue after this mission. We could not have a deformed freak like you returning to the Father Land, we must have a pure race! You and subordinate were never going to return from this mission alive! Did you think one as deformed as yourself would ever be part of our master race? You are a disgrace to the German race, even if you had succeeded in your mission I was to come here and dispose of the stain you place one the Nazi party!" With that, a puff of red smoke surrounded Pruneface's head. Pruneface began to convulse dropping Gilgamesh's hand, his wrinkled face began to puff out stretching it odd directions. His forehead protruded forward and his eyes bulged as his face turned red. Pruneface fell to floor gasping for breath in the long sliver of moonlight that crept into the hanger.

A foot steeped in front of Pruneface's eyes, he looked up a powerful leg and torso to see the face of The Red Skull standing above him. The Red Skull picked up his foot screaming "Die under my heel as you deserve to freak!" He then brought his foot down onto Pruneface's head, squishing it like a ripe grape.

The Red Skull began to look around for the dropped hand as federal agents parked their cars and ran towards the hanger. The Red Skull cursed and ran out of the hanger onto the idling plane. Leading a team of men, Agent Nick Fury stormed upon the hanger and recouped the severed hand as the plane took off. The Shadow watched as the plane rose into the night. As it flew away he could feel the evil presence moving away from him. He hoped one day he would cross paths with this great evil again. He watched Agent Fury climb into his car with the hand. The Shadow knew he would have to track them and wait for an opportunity to retake the hand from them.
