Fan Fiction: Crossovers
Can't Get You Outta My Head

Chapter 8

Dinner was finished, and Russell was serving coffee to Victor and Peter. Stephen had locked himself in his room after the meal, and Diane was washing up before joining them. But Diane had been gone for almost ten minutes.

"I'm getting worried." Peter said finally. "What if Stephen has found her and done something to her?"

Victor shook his head. "No. Stephen has too much restraint for that."

Peter started pacing. "Yeah, but still, she might be up to something. I'm gonna go check it out."

Peter walked quickly down the hall to Diane's room, and knocked on the door.

  There was no answer.

Peter could feel the tingle from his spider-sense. Finally, he decided to risk it, and opened the door.

The balcony doors were wide open, and Peter's enhanced hearing, told him that something was climbing quietly down the wall.

Rushing over to the edge, he could make out the forms of about a dozen men in armour escorting a woman along the grounds. The final guard had just reached the ground, and ran to catch up with his companions.

Peter let out a war cry, and leaped off the balcony, straight for the final Mongol, bringing him down in a hard tackle.

Despite the hard hit, the warrior rolled, and was up again in an instant, not much slower than Peter.

Peter was impressed: this guy was hard-core. He threw a punch for his face, which the Mongol dodged, another shot from Peter connected to the warrior's stomach, and Peter could feel the man's armor give. Padded armor. Peter thought, shaking out his hurt knuckles. Designed to cushion and deflect hard hits.

The Mongol drew his sword, a long wickedly curved blade, and swung at Peter, who dodged to the side, and turned his dodge into a punch.

The Mongol tried to turn with the blow, and managed to stay on his feet. What followed, was a lighting fast display of well-trained martial arts techniques, which Peter was not expecting. The warrior had drawn another blade, and was trying to pin the young man between them. It was taking all of Peter's agility, and Spider prowess to keep ahead of the attacks.

Finally, the Mongol scored a lucky shot, and Peter felt a deep gash cut itself into his leg. Time to end this, Peter thought as he leaped straight up, and landed on the man's shoulders, flipping him over instantly. Before the Mongol could recover, Peter had him in a Judo hold, and threw him against the wall, driving his elbow into the man's solar plexus, knocking him unconscious at last.

With a deep breath, Peter leapt back up to the balcony, just in time to see the van pull away. Growling in frustration, Peter started back inside, then stopped, and looked at the sleeping Mongol. I can't just leave him, thought Peter. He was about to go inside for his webshooters, so he could tie the man up, when he saw the vines climbing the side of the building, the same vines the Mongol had used for a ladder. He looked from the vines, to the sleeping Mongol, and grinned.
