Fan Fiction: Crossovers
Identities and the 8th Wonder
by Matt Dennion

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Epilogue

Epilogue

The Black Eagle's plan worked. Kong was finally shot down from the Empire State Building, but at a cost. Kong was stronger that even the Black Eagle realized. It took several times running through the pattern to finally bring Kong down, but before he died Kong had figured out the pattern. On the third run through he quickly turned with inhuman speed and smashed Nippy Weston's plan to pieces. It appeared that he died instantly or at least his comrades hoped so before he fell countless stories to the ground.

On a brighter note Kong had put down Ann Darrow and her fiancé was able to rescue her from the top of the building. The Shadow briefly considered approaching the two brave and resourceful individuals about becoming agents of his, but after considering all they had been through, hoped they would have a peaceful and happy life instead. They were eventually married and Driscoll purchased his own boat with his money from the one and only public showing of Kong. He and his wife now run a small shipping company from New Jersey but spend most of their time out at sea. When needed, Lamont Cranston used them as his primary shippers.

Carl Denham was sued by the City, State, and County of New York as well as countless individuals. Several months after the incident he disappeared and has yet to resurface.

In the wake of Nippy Weston's death, G-8 would never be the same after losing the man who meant more to him than a brother with all they had been through together. When the planes returned to the hanger he vowed G-8 had flown his last mission. From that day forward he would only wear a black pilot's suit and changed his name to Captain Midnight in order to reflect his eternal mourning for his fallen friend.

Lamont Cranston/ The Shadow/ Kent Allard/ The Black Eagle all reflected back on the events that had occurred, and on Kong. This was the greatest most powerful enemy he had faced under any one of his various identities. Yet he could feel no joy or honor in killing the beast. Kong was not some gangster or war criminal who chose to commit evil acts, he was just a being taken out of his element who reacted out of fear, anger, and maybe even in some odd way, love. The Shadow took no joy in Kong's defeat he took pity on the creature and gained unlimited respect for it.

The End

Author's Note:
Anyone who has read my previous stories knows that I like to throw in quick cameos in for fun. I mean why have any rich person sit next to Lamont Cranston when you can have pre-Avenger Dick Benson? (There I gave you one). But one cameo I think may need explaining as it pertains to a future story I am working on, and as people may or may not figure out who the character is. The doctor who seems to know Lamont Cranston's secret is in fact the heroic Time Lord known simply as The Doctor (From the series "Doctor Who") He is a time traveler who travels through time, constantly saving everything from the entire universe to an individual person. Please look for a future story featuring The Shadow, The Doctor, and the Insidious Dr. Fu Manchu.

Thanks. Matt.
